About Kevin
Hello! I’m Kevin, a native English teacher from Ireland with a Master’s in Writing and Literature and a 120-hour TEFL certification. I’ve taught English to adult learners from around the world at Cork English College, and I bring energy, patience, and professionalism to every lesson. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for an exam like IELTS or TOEFL, or gain confidence in writing and grammar, I’ll tailor each session to your goals. My lessons are clear, engaging, and supportive—designed to help you progress quickly and enjoy the learning process. Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about fiction, football (go Liverpool!), and cooking—which often leads to fun and authentic conversations in class. I focus on creating a relaxed, engaging environment where students feel confident speaking and experimenting with English. My lessons are conversation-driven and tailored to each learner’s goals—whether it's improving fluency, preparing for an exam, or enhancing writing and comprehension skills. I use a range of techniques including role-playing, real-world scenarios, error correction through conversation, and personalized reading or writing tasks. My goal is to help students use English naturally and comfortably, not just memorize rules. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but I can adapt to 30- or 90-minute sessions based on your preferences. I hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Literature, a 120-hour TEFL certification, and I’ve taught adult learners from diverse backgrounds at Cork English College. My background also includes creative writing and publishing, which I often bring into lessons to make them more engaging and culturally rich. I teach adults and older teens (16+) at all levels—from beginners to advanced learners—and I especially enjoy working with students looking to improve conversation skills, prepare for exams (IELTS/TOEFL), or gain confidence in professional and academic English.

Perfect! Kevin gave my two kids intensive classes for a week. I have to thank him for responding on such short notice (our previous teacher suddenly stopped classes due to personal circumstances). Kevin was an attentive teacher who immediately empathized with my children. They learned and practised a lot while enjoying very entertaining classes!
