My name's Risa. I am your future Japanese teacher :)
I offer private lessons for people who want to speak Japanese confidently, improve their language skills or simply enjoy learning Japanese in a relaxed environment.
I am certified with 1.5 years of experience, currently doing both private sessions and classes at a Japanese language school in Melbourne.
My lessons are a great fit for students who appreciate clear communication and respect each other's time. I especially enjoy working with people who are interested in building their Japanese language skills over time through consistent lessons :)

My lessons focus on conversation and real-life application!
They are fully customizable based on your level, interests, goals and learning pace.

My students love practicing Japanese through topics they enjoy, like anime, hobbies, dialogues, free talk, news articles and short stories etc. I will make a personalized lesson plan and materials for each lesson.
*If you prefer to build a strong grammar foundation with a textbook, that's totally fine too :) *
♡ Absolute beginners are very welcome!
You can start from hiragana, katakana, basic grammar, simple phrases, and begin speaking from day one with no pressure.
In my lessons, I like to create a relaxed but interactive and engaging environment for my students.

A bit shy or quiet? No worries, take as much time as you need to warm up with me :)
Each student is different, so I adapt our lessons step by step. We will work together to find what works best for you!

Perfect! I highly recommend Risa-sensei if you’re looking to improve your Japanese. Perfect! I have only just had my first lesson with Risa sensei, but she is very kind, practical and is already planning a personal lesson for next time.
She sets boundaries well and ahead of time payment-wise and is very smart about it. Personally, we have a lot in common and I can see these lessons going far and I envision myself learning alot! You will not be disappointed!

She teaches a wide range of levels, from beginner to intermediate. You can study in your preferred style, whether step-by-step building or conversation-focused. You’ll enjoy learning very practical Japanese in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
Risa sensei is very enthusiastic and wants what's best for her students.
She listens and tries to incorporate the students personal interests to help make learning a little easier.Risa is the best tutor for me! It was my first time learning Japanese in English, so I was a bit worried, but she explained everything so well with her own materials. Studying with her feels more like having a fun conversation than a class.
Highly recommended!I have had several classes with Risa outside of Super prof and she has been absolutely fantastic. From the beginning she showed me a clear direction of what i will learn and how i will progress with her. Details
・ My rates are $45 for online lessons and $60 for face-to-face lessons.
・ Any cancellation / no show without notice will incur full lesson fees.
・ 1 session is 60min. (90min, 2hrs sessions available as well)
NOTE: Face-to-face lessons are priced differently because they require more preparation, focus, and time commitment. To keep things fair and simple for all students, I use a flat rate for in-person lessons regardless of location.
