About Defne

Hi! I'm a Year 11 student predicted a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, and I love helping others learn and improve. I have experience helping my younger siblings with their learning, which has taught me to be patient and explain things in different ways to help them understand.

I want to help primary school children enjoy maths, build their confidence and reach their full potential. Everyone learns differently, so I aim to make my lessons friendly, supportive and tailored to each child's needs. Whether we're going over tricky topics or practising exam-style questions, I'll help students work through problems step by step, spot mistakes and understand how to improve.

My goal is to help every child feel more confident in maths and realise that they can do it!

About the lesson

My lessons focus exclusively on maths and are designed for young school children. Each session lasts around one hour and is tailored to the student's individual needs. We will begin by discussing which topics they would like to learn or improve on. If they are unsure, I will provide a list of topics to choose from. If they feel confident in all areas, we can work through practice exam papers together to develop problem-solving skills, improve accuracy and build confidence. My aim is to make maths enjoyable, accessible and rewarding for every student.
