About Aleena
Hi, I’m Aleena, a dedicated and high achieving Year 11 student based in South Auckland. I am passionate about helping younger students build confidence and succeed in English and Math. I understand how important strong foundations are in these subjects, as they support success in every other area of school.
I am fluent in Malayalam so I can also teach in Malayalam if there is any student who struggles with English.
I have achieved strong academic results, particularly in English and Math and I am currently working towards my Level 1 excellence endorsement. My experience in Peer Support at school has strengthened my communication skills and taught me how to be patient, encouraging, and supportive when working with students of different ages and abilities.
I aim to create a positive and comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students feel more confident and independent in their learning.
I am reliable, organized, and committed to helping each student reach their personal best. I look forward to supporting students from Years 1 to 10 in achieving their academic goals.

I take a patient, supportive and structured approach to tutoring. Through my experience in Peer Support at school, I have developed strong communication skills and understand how to explain concepts in ways that feel clear and approachable. I focus on building confidence first, then strengthening understanding through step by step explanations, worked examples and guided practice. I adjust my teaching style depending on the student’s needs, whether they need help catching up, reinforcing classroom learning, or extending themselves further.
A typical lesson runs for 1 to 2 hours outside of school hours and I am available any day of the week. Lessons usually include a short review of previous work, focused teaching of key concepts, practice questions together, and independent work to check understanding. I can also help with homework, test preparation and study skills.
As a high achieving Year 11 student with strong academic results, I understand the New Zealand curriculum and what teachers are looking for. My Peer Support experience has given me practical mentoring skills and the ability to work patiently with younger students.
My lessons are for primary, intermediate and Year 9 to 10 students who want support in English and Maths, whether they are building foundations or aiming for higher achievement.
