About Katya
I come from a small village where winters can drop to -40°F, but that never stopped me from dreaming big. My goal was to earn the same degree as the founder of Google—and I did! Besides Computer Science, advanced mathematics became my passion, and now, I want to pass on my knowledge to others. I hold high expectations because I know what my students are capable of, and I push them to reach their full potential. That said, I am always understanding of any challenges they may face. No matter the obstacle, we tackle it together!

>> Homework Check & Review – I start by going over the student's homework, reinforcing key concepts covered in class. (1)
>> Clarifying Instructions & Answering Questions – I ensure students fully understand instructions and address any confusion. (2)
>> Guided Practice – We solve problems together on paper, and I observe the student’s process to ensure 100% comprehension. (3)
>> Efficiency & Problem-Solving Strategies – After working through the standard methods taught in school, I introduce shortcuts, hints, and alternative approaches to make math more intuitive and manageable. (4)
>> Wrap-Up & Independent Practice – I assign homework to reinforce learning and sometimes provide answer keys for students who use them responsibly and show their work. (5)
*What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor*
Having tutored students in multiple countries, I can explain mathematical concepts in different ways, adapting to various learning styles and perspectives. This flexibility allows me to tailor my teaching to each student’s needs.
*Who My Lessons Are For*
I specialize in high school math, including Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. However, I have also worked with advanced 7th graders, some of whom are at the same level as my current Geometry Honors students.
