About Rodrigo

I am a high school math teacher in Los Angeles with five years of teaching experience, working with students from middle school through Pre-Calculus. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their math skills, and achieve academic success. My approach emphasizes patience, clear instruction, and a supportive learning environment where every student can grow.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach focuses on building students' confidence and developing a deeper understanding of mathematics. I combine direct instruction with productive struggle, encouraging students to think critically rather than simply memorize procedures.

A typical session begins by identifying areas where the student needs support, followed by clear explanations, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. I adjust my instruction based on each student's individual needs and learning pace.

What sets me apart is my five years of classroom teaching experience and my emphasis on understanding the "why" behind mathematics, not just the "how."

I offer tutoring for middle school and high school students, including Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.
