About Matthew
Great to meet you! My name is Mr. Heney (Matt) and I'm from Ottawa, Ontario. I am a high school science teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching in Canadian international schools. I believe learning should be fun but also interesting! I have taught both BC and Ontario sciences and biology in grades 9-12, as well as grade 10 Math. I am also interested in grade 11-12 chemistry and physics and am confident I could tutor students in those subjects as well. In addition to teaching content, I can help students in other areas, including organization, communication, and study skills. I am certain I can help students excel in all areas of school!

In my lessons I try to make difficult topics in science interesting and easy to understand. My science lessons include clear and engaging slideshows, relevant practice problems and games. Assessments are fair and directly related to what was learned.I have a deep understanding of the Ontario science curriculum for grades 7-12 and plenty of experience teaching in classrooms and 1 on 1.
