Hello everyone! My name is Shayna, and as an English tutor, I aim to bring a unique blend of passion, expertise and dedication to our lessons. I do online lessons ranging from 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on your preference. As a secondary school student, I am confident in teaching nursery, 11 plus, GCSE, and anyone wanting to get into reading! Encouraging exploring a variety of books is extremely important, so I tend to give students options as to what genre they would like to read and then recommend what I think they would find interesting. After a certain deadline, we will discuss the book and write essays or creative writing inspired by the writing. For 11 plus students, I teach them grammar and comprehension by teaching the basics and then going through worksheets and practice questions with them. For nursery students and those ranging from Years 1-3, I help expand their vocabulary and descriptive ability as well as their eloquence. Overall, my aim is to encourage reading and allow students to truly understand and appreciate the English language!
