About Claire
My name is Claire Shim, and I'm currently a sophomore at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. I would consider myself a well-rounded student, participating in multiple extracurricular activities, such as orchestra and policy debate. Outside of school, I love to read, cook, travel, and listen to music! I hope to share the love of music with all my students!

My teaching method would be aimed at younger students. All music lessons are private one on one for 60 minutes/ $30. I am open to weekly lessons, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! I would first incorporate scales into their daily practice, as well as drilling core exercises with specific music books. With more experience, we will begin to start a specific repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level. I'm extremely passionate about music and have always enjoyed making music. I began with piano from a very young age and quickly picked up on the cello. I have won multiple competitions, performed in breathtaking concert halls (i.e. Carnegie Hall), and wish to use my musical skills to bring joy to others. I love teaching others and this is a perfect opportunity for me to showcase my qualifications and share my passion for music with my students.
