About Melanie
To me, it is important that a student develops good self-esteem and confidence while learning, in order to keep the student motivated and inspired to keep working hard. I always make sure that the student feels comfortable with what they are learning, and feel comfortable asking questions about the material. I also make sure to communicate to the parents any updates and achievements or difficulties that the child may be facing while learning in order to come up with a learning plan that works best for them.

Before beginning lessons, I like asking the student what they know, want to know, and do not yet understand about the subject I am tutoring them for. I always communicate any new updates with the child's parent/guardian and keep them 100% aware of the child's progress and improvements. While learning, the child will learn simple organizational and study skills that are suitable for their age. I will help to build the child's self-esteem, use learning games to help communicate different ideas within a subject, and identify problem areas in order to work on those the most.
Spanish Lessons:
- The child will learn basic Spanish vocabulary that is suitable for their age.
- Spanish writing and reading are developed depending on the child's age.
English Lessons:
- Reading, comprehension, and writing are all worked on, and skills are developed according to the child's age.
Science Lessons:
- Science concepts are developed through experiments, games, and worksheets that are suitable for the child's age.
