About Jose
I am a high school graduate attending Columbia University in the fall, #1 of a class of 500. English is my second language and as such, I have experience with learning ESL. With hard work and dedication, I was able to place out of the ESL program and take college-level English classes. By my accent and mastery of the English language, many don't believe me when I say I moved to the United States three years ago. I have vast experience teaching foreign students English and grammar rules.

When teaching, I like to have a conversation with my students first in order to measure their mastery of the English language. After that, I will make lesson plans to address my students' areas of weakness. In my lessons, I tackle syntax and correct grammatic structure, as well as pronunciation and correct word usage. I shape my lessons to include a lot of practice in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Most importantly, I make my lessons fun so that students can learn better!

José is honest, kind and very hard-working, when he sets out to do something he always gets it done. He has an excellent academic performance and is very patient, and thus makes for a great teacher.
