About Andrew
I graduated university in 2021, but have been unsuccessful to find a job in my field. I have always enjoyed helping people understand math online, so I figured I would try to pivot into tutoring. I
I have achieved high marks academically at all steps, and helped fellow students during high school/university. I think I am quite skilled in breaking down concepts to make them easy to understand. I have a legitimate passion and curiosity for learning, and wish to make learning (especially math) less tedious than the way it is taught in school. I am bilingual, and achieved the territory top score in Japanese, as well as 2nd in a national speaking competition.
I'm mainly seeking motivated students who wish to do well in middle-high school. As my masters degree is in computing, I can also teach many related subdomains of the subject. I would rather break through roadblocks with students, as I will endeavour to make the material as interesting as possible but I do not think it's possible to create motivation. I also scored in the top 1% with little preparation for the UMAT, because I have fairly well developed logical skills. If your child wishes to have help preparing for related aptitude tests, I can help build mental models to approach those problems.
Outside of academics, I enjoy chess, soccer, and latin dancing.
