About Jack
I have been a keen photographer since my 9th birthday, and have tutored the subject for 12 years. I am passionate about helping people to find real joy in the art of photography by mastering the fundamentals of the science of photography. Across the years I have been fortunate to win a number of awards for my work in the classroom and behind the lens, and would love the opportunity to help you build confidence and fall in love with photography.

Across my 12 years of teaching photography and 25 years of experience behind the lens, I have honed a responsive and highly effective strategy for building skills, confidence and artistry.
By starting with first principles, making the camera extension of the user and demystifying its various settings, I open the door for helping students to see style and composition as their main pursuit. From here I focus on spending lots of time with the camera, teaching students to critique their work and the work of others, and on developing their unique style.
