As I could remember, dr. Farshid gave us enough time and space to consider a literary work from our own knowledge, and in the class, we used to discuss our own understanding. After revising what we had desicussed in the class, she provided great points that were not mentioned during our discussion. Her classes were good experiences that my friends and I had at the university.

Throughout my entire academic journey, I was fortunate to have a lot of great teachers inspired me to boost my knowledge of English literature. Among those, Sima is the one that I admire the most for her exceptional teaching skills and unique personality.

Professor Sima Farshid educated me during my master's in English Literature. I have attended several courses taught by her and I dare say those were the only classes in which I experienced discovery learning. She led the debates and allowed us students to run the discussion. She did not push ideas but rather gave us hints and clues here and there to both stay on the right track and also be able to think beyond what we read in scripts.
I vividly remember her choice of literary works to be discussed in class, which always found me enthused. In other words, she was never a follower of the stream but quite innovative with the content she obliged us to indulge in. Time flew in her classes, and my mind did not switch off and even hours after the lesson, I recall me and my classmates were still talking the topic- we had discussed earlier in class, through.
She raised questions through the class debates and in times she cleared ambiguities, but as I mentioned before, never imposed subjectiveness!
She has always appeared open to new ideas and approaches. We were evaluated both in class and in written exams quite thoroughly. We received constructive feedback from her promptly and this contributed to our progress in a great deal.
She was also my supervisor for the thesis I had to conduct. She was absolutely approachable, always available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems in any area we were challenged at. She is caring and sees you as a human being and not just a student who is taking a course.
Even years after graduation, she still appeared helpful and considerate. She helped me to apply for universities and now that I am writing this recommendation, I still have her support.
She is a true diligent teacher who is always there for you.

I do not think, it is better to say I believe in her teaching and knowledge since she was one of my best teacher I ever had during both B.A and M.A. She is not only knowledgeable but also liable to the students and syllabus. It is too hard to make a balance between being strict and friendly in class, but for sure Dr.Farshid is master of fulfilling this task. Lucky you if she is your teacher.
