About Magnolia
I am a highly skilled singing tutor with 9 years of experience teaching college-level students. I have successfully guided around 150 students, helping them develop strong vocal technique and stage confidence. My teaching philosophy is rooted in cultural sensitivity, problem-solving, and open-mindedness, allowing each student to explore singing styles that feel meaningful to them. I focus on breath control, pitch accuracy, and tone development, addressing individual challenges through practical, targeted exercises. I stay flexible in my approach, encouraging students to discover their own unique sound rather than following a rigid method. My goal is to help every student grow into a confident, expressive singer ready for real-world performance.

My teaching approach for Singing, Vocal Technique, and Music Theory focuses on helping students develop their voice while respecting their individual background and creative expression. With years of experience guiding singers, I have built a methodology that values both technical skill and personal identity in music.
Cultural sensitivity is an important part of how I teach. Singing styles and traditions vary widely across cultures, and I make it a point to understand and respect each student's musical background, incorporating genres or songs that feel meaningful to them, whether classical, folk, playback, or contemporary styles.
Problem-solving is central to my lessons. Every student faces different challenges, whether it is breath control, pitch accuracy, or vocal strain. I work closely with each student to identify the root cause of their difficulty and guide them through practical exercises and techniques to overcome it effectively.
Open-mindedness shapes how I approach teaching overall. I stay flexible with different singing styles, techniques, and student preferences, avoiding a one size fits all method. I encourage students to explore various genres and find their own unique sound rather than forcing a rigid approach.
My lessons usually begin with breathing exercises and vocal warm-ups to build a strong technical base. From there, I move into pitch training, tone development, and breath support, gradually introducing music theory basics such as rhythm and note reading.
For more experienced students, I focus on stage presence, dynamic control, and genre-specific techniques, along with recording practice to prepare them for studio work.
I tailor my teaching to match each student's personal goals, whether they are singing for enjoyment, preparing for auditions, or building a professional career. My overall aim is to create a culturally aware, open-minded, and problem-solving environment where every student feels comfortable exploring and developing their voice.
