About Bo
My name is Bo Garcia. I am a 3rd year Media Production major with a minor in History at the University of Florida.
As per my education experience, I have worked as a science communicator at a planetarium, a theater camp instructor, and as a new-hire trainer at my University's radio station.
History is one of my favorite school subjects, and combined with my high-level communication skills, I should have no trouble making history accessible to anyone.
If History is not your thing because you hate memorizing dates, no worries! While dates are important, I'm more focused on you understanding why the decisions of the past affect our future and how we can understand the patterns of history.

-I like to think of History as one big human story. My lessons will be focused on telling that human story and how it relates to the present.
-History can be boring if you don't have a connection with it. I plan to allow the student to create a personal connection to whatever they are learning.
-I typically will engage with the student by putting them in the shoes of whoever they're learning about. If the student struggles with the Civil War, I want to make it so that they can feel what it was like to be in the Civil War.
-My lessons are for middle to high schoolers and can be tailored for any specific class they are taking.
