About Miranda
I am a history graduate from the University of York. I received a first-class degree and have chosen to continue my studies in York with a Masters in Renaissance Literature. I also have an A-Level (grade A) in English Literature.
Though I may be a slight Shakespeare nerd, my main priority with tutoring is to create a safe and non-judgemental environment for any student to learn and grow in confidence.

My lessons focus on the GCSE curriculum for English Literature or History, and as such would be suitable for anyone in years 9 - 11.
I have worked in schools previously as a volunteer for the York Students in Schools program, where I supported both History and English classes.
Lessons typically run for an hour, where we will focus on either a particular area of the exam's assessment objectives or an area the student specifically wishes to focus on. I believe that there is no 'perfect' method which works for everyone, so I will work with students to build an environment where they feel considered.
Our first session will be a 'get to know you' session, where we will discuss what the student aims to achieve from our sessions. In this session we will set specific targets to meet over the course of tutoring.
