About Jacob
I'm a History & Politics teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience. I graduated in History and Arabic from the University of St Andrews and have a PGCE with Distinction in History from Oxford University.
My passion for History stems from learning about the Crusades and the Medieval Middle East as a young student. I was drawn to the motivations of the people who lived at this time, particularly their religious beliefs and the role that religion played in Medieval Christian and Islamic societies.

Each session will focus on your individual needs as a student. Usually these consist of a detailed review of your work (i.e. an essay), focusing on your writing technique and how you might improve your answer. On other occasions, lessons might develop your understanding of a particular period by extending your subject knowledge or by looking at the work of professional historians.
