About Jon
I have a B.Ed degree specialising in Maths and Physics, and more than 5 years teaching experience in both subject areas. I have a passion for my subjects and I love sharing and teaching as I see my pupils grow within the subjects, so I have been tutoring privately as well from my student days.
My first language is English and I completed all my studies in English so I have no problem teaching English as a subject as well.
I have experience with UK and US curriculums and make sure to keep up with any developments within my subject areas. I look forward to branching out and teaching learners from different backgrounds and places.

I like to stress the importance of relevance within the subjects that I teach. Maths and Physics can tend to get quite abstract to pupils, so in my teaching I continuously relate work that we do in class to the real world and industry. One example is when I was doing geometry with my class, I related the work to a stadium that was being built in our city at the time. When learners saw how the same theorems and calculations that we do in class were being used on a massive scale to produce a wonder of architecture, the content was so much more meaningful to them, and one could almost see a love and passion for mathematics develop within them.
So my teaching method is to not just focus on content, but to really develop a love and a culture of discovery within my subject.
I also incorporate technology and fun into lessons as much as possible, making pupils excited and eager to learn.
