About Patricia
I have been an educator since 1981. Along the way I have taught English composition, literary criticism and English as a foreign language, with the latter being the most recent--for the last 11 years of my career. I have extensive classroom experience, plus much experience in tutoring students individually if the situation
called for it. I am an outgoing, warm personality, which (based on my experience) has always given my student the courage to speak English with confidence. I establish close relationships with my students, so that they know that if they need assistance with something outside of our regular classroom engagements, I will be there to help them.

I enjoy the interactive approach to teaching, where the students work both with me and in groups in order to support and learn from each other. I use games, activities, and student-to-student dialogues to reinforce what they are learning. My lesson approach is to encourage and support the student's speech attempts, while keeping corrective comments to a minimum. These techniques have worked well both wit students in the US, and in my overseas teaching engagements in China, Poland and Israel.
