About Oliver
I am currently an Honours level student studying English language and Linguistics at the University of Glasgow. My intention is, when i finish, to be come a GCSE level teacher. English is my passion subject; whilst maths came easy to me i didnt enjoy it much, whereas i loved English and i had to work incredibly hard to be at the position i am now. i am hoping to pass on my skills and knowledge to any would be students to help them understand that Language is the most beautiful, extensive and universal art humans have ever created and that to understand it is to understand yourself.

English Literature - Together we will delve in to what makes up novels, plays, and poems (all the key types of writing that will be on your exams). Moreover, we shall look into the characters themselves along with the themes surrounding them and the writing and what the authors may have intended for them, comparing that with how it relates to our society today. Additionally We will go over essay writing techniques and how to tackle each aspect of the question thoroughly so as to not lose any marks.
English language - English language requires you to view the source more critically, it is less about the characters and ideas and more about the "meat" of the words. 'how is thetext structured to interest you' and 'to what extent do you agree with a point of view'. These are questions which require you to analyse each piece of language and question " why did the author use this word, and not this word". This, along with essay planning, we will discuss in my lessons.
ABOUT ME
I am currently an honours English Language and Linguistics student at the University of Glasgow. Additionally i received 8s in both literature and language at GCSE level, along with As at A-level. As such i have the experience and knowledge to pass on to any would be students and help them gain the best grades possible in their Exams.
