About
I have been tutoring and teaching for over 10 years. For the ones I am aware of, they have all improved their grades drastically through their lessons. Many of my students came in feeling overwhelmed and behind in their classes. All of those that I am aware of became much more confident, enjoyed their lessons more, and felt they had succeeded in the end.

I teach, tutor, and mentor students from early arithmetic through college algebra and beyond. I have a Bachelors of Science from The University of Houston in Psychology/Math. I am currently a school teacher at Fusion Academy, where I teach all levels of math, science, and English! In teaching and mentoring, I try to build the. Eat relationship possible with each student in order to build trust and desire for learning. I assess students initially to find out where we need to start, and so we can identify any learning gaps . I then go step by step, at the student's pace, first showing and then gradually moving from having us work together to having the student work through problems independently. I continue through to teach for understanding and not just for memorization.
My focus for every student is to have them build fundamental knowledge through a genuine love for learning. I believe that relationship building with compassion and empathy adds enjoyment and curiosity that leads to the ideal learning environment. I believe that everyone is capable of learning math with patience and diligence. I ease the pain by staying enthusiastic and positive. Most of all, I remind students that math is difficult, but with focus and practice, we can master this important skill and art and achieve success far beyond what we imagined.
