About Jackie
I’m a Human Resources Director, retired military leader, and experienced writing coach who specializes in helping students build real-world communication skills. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve reviewed thousands of résumés, essays, and writing samples, hired talent across multiple industries, and coached people at every stage of their career. Because of that, I know exactly what strong writing looks like — and how to teach it. My background is built on discipline, clarity, and leadership. I spent 30 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army, then transitioned into Human Resources where communication, professionalism, and written excellence are non-negotiable. Those experiences taught me how to break down complex ideas, teach with purpose, and help students grow fast. I work with students on English, creative writing, essay structure, and résumé development. My goal is simple: help you write with confidence, communicate clearly, and stand out. Whether you’re preparing for high school assignments, college essays, or early-career job applications, I bring a direct, supportive approach that pushes students to reach their potential without overwhelming them. I keep my teaching practical and results-driven. Students don’t need complicated theory — they need clarity, structure, and confidence. I break writing down into simple, repeatable steps that anyone can learn. Whether it’s English grammar, creative writing, résumé prep, or essay development, I show students why something works and how to apply it immediately. I use a mix of guided practice, real examples, and hands-on correction. Students learn by doing, writing, revising, and improving. I’m direct, encouraging, and focused on helping them communicate with impact.
