About Mark
I’ve been a teacher most of my working life but I have a lot of experience outside the classroom. I’ve worked in hospitality, taught English as a foreign language abroad, taught English in UK secondary schools and I’ve been the head teacher of a Special needs school. I’ve also run my own business, managed the English national junior and senior surf teams and travelled extensively. I feel that I’ve been blessed in my life and one of the most rewarding things I’ve been privileged to do is to teach.

The foundation stone of successful teaching is a positive learning relationship. As an experienced professional I am well practised in quickly establishing a good relationship with individual students. One size definitely doesn’t fit all! Each of my lessons has a clear objective, a structured opportunity for recycling of previous lessons and an outline of the next lesson. I encourage my students to be proactive in their contribution to the next lesson. Worksheets and materials will be produced for each individual student reflecting their needs and interests.
