About Joy
With more than 11 years of experience, I specialise in teaching singing to college students, helping them improve both technical skills and artistic expression. I focus on breath control, pitch, vocal tone, and range while encouraging creativity, individuality, and performance confidence.
My lessons combine traditional methods with interactive exercises such as vocal improvisation, recording feedback, and real-song practice. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace, goals, and learning style, ensuring steady progress while making learning fun.
Performance readiness is an important part of my teaching. I guide students in stage presence, expressive delivery, and self-confidence for recitals, competitions, and auditions. Music theory and ear training are also included to strengthen their musical foundation.
I encourage students to explore different genres and develop their unique voice. My philosophy emphasises patience, encouragement, and accountability, creating a supportive and motivating learning environment.

My approach to teaching Singing is flexible, supportive, and goal-driven. I use clear communication to help students understand how their voice works. Vocal techniques such as breathing control, tone production, and pitch accuracy are explained step by step for steady improvement.
Creativity is encouraged through expressive singing, creative exercises, and thoughtful song interpretation. Students learn to express emotion and develop confidence in their performance.
Cultural sensitivity is a strong value in my teaching. I respect different musical traditions and encourage students to sing songs from their own culture while learning about others. This helps build appreciation for global music.
Accountability is built through regular assessments, clear expectations, and constructive feedback. Along with singing, I also teach basic music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and voice care for long-term vocal development.
