About Amy
I have spent my whole life searching for truth, for knowledge but mostly for stories. Stories that make change, that move you, that transform the world or the life of just one person. It’s this ethos that I bring to my teaching. I want to empower students to find the stories that propel and inspire them. I want students to become bold in their search for knowledge and meaning, not held back by fear or the complicated structures of traditional education systems.
I have always been artistic at heart, majoring in my BA in Film Studies and Gender Studies for which I graduated cum laude. It was a multidisciplinary degree, as I also took literature and linguistics courses, philosophy classes and media studies. My honours degree is in Interdisciplinary Arts and Culture and focused on the intersections of my many artistic, creative and academic interests. I took art curation classes, critical art history as well as critical film studies and literature courses. I recently graduated with distinction and am pursuing learning outside of academia at the moment. I am very excited to engage with students on a wide range of subject matter and topics.

I have a deep love for learning, for exploring new ideas and gaining knowledge from the past. It is this love of learning that I share with students, personalising our lessons to meet their specific goals and needs, as well as encourage their own passions and personal interests.
