You can’t. People have to have a real and very personal reason for exercising. And it doesn’t have to be health-related. I remember when I first joined a gym, the young girl in the office was filling out the questionnaire and she asked me why I was joining the gym. I responded by saying it was mainly vanity (I was sick of how awful my body looked).
But it wasn’t MY reason and getting healthy would never have kept me coming. I wanted to be able to buy clothes that had a waistline and I had tried everything, included stupid starvation (which only left me fatter)

She was horrified and responded “That’s a terrible reason. I can’t put vanity down!!” And so I say, “oh ok, I came to get more fit” and she happily wrote that down in the little box.
