About Matthew
"A master of his touching, yet bold baritone" (Berkshire Fine Arts), Matthew Cossack is quickly making a name for himself at notable opera houses in the USA and abroad. He holds awards and degrees from The Yale School of Music, Mannes School of Music and SUNY Purchase. Mr. Cossack was a winner in the Opera Foundation Scholarship Competition in 2019 and made his European debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. He was the baritone soloist in a world premiere 'Once To Be Realised' which toured through Berlin, Munich and Athens in 2021. Mr. Cossack was named winner of the 2022 Sullivan Award with the prestigious Sullivan Foundation, and a Role Preparation Grant recipient in 2023. He has worked with such companies as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier, Onassis Stegi, Central City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Chautauqua Opera, etc. He has over 8 years of teaching experience and loves what he does.

We’ll start by putting together a personalized plan for you that will enhance your strengths and refine other areas you may want to improve. I am classically trained, but can teach opera, musical theater or pop if that’s what you like. I’m very laid back and approachable, and will meet you wherever you’re at on your journey. In my studio, you will learn musicality, confidence and technique. Let’s make some music together!
