Hi. I am a historian, York Irish Association member and colleague at York Minster (the best office in the world!). I give lessons to students on any historical period from secondary school, AS and A-Level to University, in particular Tudor Britain, Modern Japan, U.S Civil Rights, Nazi Germany and Modern British and Irish History.

Jacob Murphy has been a valued member of the York Irish Association's Committee since September 2014.
Jacob has a wealth of knowledge on Irish history in particular relating to the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
He has given talks for the York Irish Association before on topics such as the attempts to resolve the conflict in Northern Ireland in the 1970s.
Jacob graduated with a distinction in MA History at Newcastle University and has given talks at the Tyneside Irish Society and the North East Catholic History Society.
He has also put together a series of Irish history talks for the York Irish Association that will take place from September 2017.
