About Alannah
After much deliberating about whether language courses were a 'waste of points' or if I was better off choosing a science degree just because the entry requirement started with the number 5, I eventually chose to study Applied Languages in UL. I have been passionate about languages from an early age writing my first Irish 'story' at 8 years old, although thankfully my grammar skills have improved since then! Another passion of mine is sport. I have played camogie for the past 12 years at the highest level but have taken a break over the last 2 years to pursue other interests such as rugby and half marathon running! The years of training have definitely benefited me in areas of my life outside of sport too. For example, I always credit camogie with my time management skills. Balancing training 5 nights a week with school and study could be challenging at times but looking back I wouldn't change it for the world.

The lesson plan is up to you! We can focus more on the oral and spoken language, grammar lessons (which will have you wanting to use the módh coinníollach instead of avoiding it) and essay writing tips or both.
I have just completed my Applied Languages degree with a first class honours (in Irish and French) and have 2 years of experience giving grinds to students ranging from 1st year to leaving cert.
These lessons are for anyone looking to improve their language skills, exam focused or otherwise.
Typical length of a lesson is 1 hour depending on your requirements and level.

I can’t recommend Alannah more for Irish grinds! I really like how straight forward and to the point she is! She is so thorough and takes careful measures in helping me grasp concepts in the language that are difficult ! Alannah has excellent organisational skills as well as fantastic communication skills. She has a top class understanding of Irish.
