About Anna
I was born and raised in Italy and graduated (MPhil) with honours in philosophy at the University of Milan. After graduating, I successfully completed two four-month courses in text-editing and photo-editing. Furthermore, I attended an English language course at the Embassy School of New York. In the past 12 years, I have been coordinating and delivering Italian language courses both to single individuals and to classes of up to 10 persons. I taught to individuals across a wide range of ages and cultural backgrounds that wanted/had to learn Italian. As a teacher with several years of experience, I have trained people for job interviews or who had to work with Italian colleagues, others who were about to move to Italy. I have taught students about to take official exams (AB Initio test, for example) and people that are simply curious about the language. I have numerous interests, including travelling, reading, and photography. I was born in Italy but lived as an expat in both France and the UK. This gave me the opportunity to understand the problems and difficulties, even beyond linguistic issues, of living abroad. I am available to teach Italian both face-to-face (in Oxford) and online.

The method that I use depends on the needs and aims of the different learners. In general, the lesson will be divided into three parts: - A conversation focused on the interests of the learner - Reading and comprehension exercises based on texts - Description and explanation of the grammatical and syntactic rules of the Italian language followed by focused exercises. As part of the lesson, I will use -in addition to more classical support material- interactive media, such as videos, journal articles, comics, and games. Short exercises to be completed at home will be assigned to allow practising the language between lessons. The aims and minimal attainable objectives will be established according to the level of the learner during the first lesson. All my lessons are tailored to the specific needs of the learner in such a way to provide a personalised experience.
