About Joanne
I am a fourth year Advanced Japanese student and have just returned from living in Japan for one year. While living abroad I tutored adults and high school students on both conversational English and English Literature. As I grew up in a bilingual household I have a firm understanding of the English language as both a native speaker and from an external perspective.

My teaching method changes depending on the student's preferred learning methods. First setting a goal that the student wants to reach and then breaking that down into smaller steps. With language there is a tendency to perceive it as just a lot of boring memorizing but I prefer allowing students a chance to practice the language in more practical ways, as it ends up being a more effective and fun way of learning.
