About Aubrey
My guitar teaching approach is built on positivity, diplomacy, and adaptability. I focus on understanding each student’s goals, strengths, and learning style, creating lessons that are fun, engaging, and effective. I encourage students to explore their creativity while building a strong foundation in technique and musical understanding. I teach a wide range of subjects including jazz, blues, rock, funk, and pop guitar, as well as improvisation, music theory, composition, rhythm training, ear development, chord progressions, fingerstyle, strumming patterns, songwriting, and performance skills. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and interests, connecting practical exercises with real songs to make learning meaningful. Each session combines structured guidance with creative exploration. I use step-by-step methods, interactive exercises, and listening-based techniques to simplify complex concepts. My goal is to help students build confidence, express themselves musically, and enjoy the process of learning guitar while developing skills that last a lifetime.

I am an experienced guitar tutor with 9 years of dedicated teaching, having guided over 300 students ranging from high school beginners to college-level musicians. My teaching philosophy centers on a personalized and student-focused approach, helping each learner discover their unique musical style while developing strong technical skills. I believe that every student has their own pace and learning method, and I strive to adapt my lessons to ensure they feel confident, motivated, and inspired to improve.
In my lessons, I cover a wide range of topics including jazz, blues, rock, funk, and pop guitar, along with improvisation, music theory, composition, ear training, and beat-making. I also emphasize essential techniques such as chord progressions, fingerstyle, strumming patterns, and soloing, connecting them with real songs and practical exercises. This approach allows students to not only master the instrument but also understand the underlying musical concepts, making learning engaging, fun, and meaningful.
I focus on building confidence, creativity, and independence, helping students express themselves fully through music. Many of my students have gone on to perform professionally, compose original pieces, or pursue advanced studies in music. Together, we will strengthen your skills, enhance your musicality, and unlock your full potential as a guitarist, guiding you toward both personal and professional musical growth.
