About Yoo Bin
Since 2019, I have taught seven students the ins and outs of IB English L&L, helping all of them raise their scores in their respective courses. What has helped me the most while tutoring is my own experience as an IB student; I graduated from an IB international school with a final score of 42/45 on my IB exams, which included a 7 in HL English L&L. Currently, I am a third-year student at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in International Studies and Economics. My goal as a tutor is to help you hone the critical analysis and writing skills crucial to IB English so that eventually my help will no longer be required.

My lessons, which are primarily for DP and MYP students, usually feature some combination of non-fiction text analysis, in-depth literature analysis, and essay writing practice. I use my own lit analysis + writing guides, IB past papers and other sample texts. I also frequently help my students construct oral summative outlines / practice.
While I would prefer to stick to IB English, I am also able to help with TOK, Extended Essay, MYP I&S classes and essay writing competitions. With my assistance, my students have also found success in writing competitions such as the John Locke (very high commendation) and Immerse Education (scholarship) essay competitions.
