About Defin

I am an Indonesian graduate of International Business Management with a strong passion for music and foreign languages, particularly Korean and Japanese. I aspire to deepen my knowledge by studying in South Korea, immersing myself in the culture, and experiencing life alongside both native and international residents.

My teaching journey began with freelance online lessons, where I successfully taught Korean and Japanese to 70-80 students, both from Indonesia and abroad. These were personalized, one-on-one sessions tailored to each student's needs, rather than group classes.

This experience has inspired me to share my own native Indonesian language skills with you guys as international learners.

About the lesson

Begin your journey into the Indonesian language with a focus on practical speaking skills, followed by structured lessons in formal reading and writing. This course is designed to meet the needs of international learners, from complete beginners to those with basic proficiency, whether they are children or adults.

Each online session lasts for just 1 hour, with additional benefits of ongoing support and communication via chat. Dealing with my experience teaching foreign languages to both local and international learners, I am excited to also share the use of my native language and help international learners achieve their needs of living in Indonesia.

Go take the first step of having your free trial session today with no hesitation, do create progress!

Defin's response
It has been another wonderful experience guiding more Belgian learners in their journey to learn Bahasa Indonesia. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Ma'am Isabelle, whose motivation for learning the language is particularly unique. Unlike many learners who study Bahasa Indonesia for family connections or professional purposes, Ma'am Isabelle developed a strong interest in the language and culture of Bali after visiting the island in May this year. Inspired by her experience, she hopes to return to Bali in 2027 with a stronger foundation in Bahasa Indonesia.

Throughout our initial sessions, Ma'am Isabelle has been able to follow class discussions effectively using English as a bridge language. With further sessions, she will develop a deeper understanding and gain greater confidence in using basic Bahasa Indonesia in everyday conversations. I look forward to supporting her progress as she continues her learning journey.

Defin's response
We began with a free trial session to introduce ourselves and briefly discuss the lesson plan. However, Dinda later found an in-person learning opportunity with another tutor that better suited her needs. It was a pleasure to hear her family stories and learn about her enthusiasm for studying Bahasa Indonesia. I wish her a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience, as well as continued success and progress in her studies.

Defin's response
It has been a great start for Francis in deepening his knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia. With a background of living in the Netherlands, he already had some familiarity with the language. We've been able to hold fluent conversations and share stories directly in Indonesian. I look forward to continuing our discussions on more advanced vocabulary and detailed grammar, which I believe will help boost his confidence in both speaking and listening skills.

Semangat tuk Bpk. Francis!

Sudah 14x pertemuan saya belajar dengan Defin. Hasilnya saya sekarang sudah bisa membaca Hangeul dan tau banyak grammar dan kosakata. Defin sabar sekali mengajarnya dan belajarnya santai jadi menjadi lebih fun karena kita suka bertukar pikiran dan suka membuat perumpamaan2 kosakata supaya saya bisa ingat artinya. Berdasarkan informasi yang saya berikan, saya rekomendasikan Defin menjadi guru anda :)
