About Mahek

I’m an IU Kelley graduate currently working in consulting, and I’m passionate about helping students build both their knowledge and confidence. Throughout my academic and professional experience, I’ve developed a strong foundation in business, analytical thinking, writing, and problem-solving, and I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps.

As a tutor, I strive to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel supported asking questions and working through mistakes. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I take the time to adapt my approach to each student’s needs, goals, and learning style.

My approach as a tutor is personalized, practical, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize it. I first identify the student’s goals, current level, and areas of difficulty, then adapt my teaching style accordingly. I use clear explanations, real-world examples, guided practice, and questions that encourage students to think through problems independently.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and an assessment of any areas that need additional attention. We then work through new concepts together, using examples and practice problems to reinforce understanding, followed by independent practice and a recap of key takeaways. I also provide strategies for studying, test preparation, and approaching challenging problems with greater confidence.

What sets me apart is my combination of academic experience from IU Kelley and professional experience in consulting. I understand both the importance of mastering foundational concepts and how to apply them in practical settings. My lessons are designed to be supportive and engaging while still challenging students to build the skills and confidence to succeed independently.

I work with students at a variety of levels, including high school students in math and English, college students studying game theory and criminal justice, students seeking resume and career preparation, and individuals preparing for the CFE exam. I am happy to tailor lessons to a student’s specific course, learning style, goals, and timeline.
