About Kim
I have taught pre-kindergarten and kindergarten for 8 of my 11 years teaching. I am old school in that I believe a child can do whatever they determine to do. I like to make learning fun and exciting but also encourage perseverance. In my classroom, we don't say "I can't"; we do ask for help, we encourage each other and work together, and we don't fear mistakes. We all have things to learn, we all improve with practice, and we all make mistakes which help us to find out what more we need to learn.

I teach basic, kindergarten math with one-to-one counting, number identification, subitizing, addition and subtraction up to ten then on. I teach letter identification, and sounds, phonics, reading, word segmenting, blending, rhyming, writing, upper and lower case letters, basic sentence writing, phonemic spelling, sight words, and move on to imaginative writing. This year’s kindergarten class even wrote their own stories!
