About Kristian
As a dedicated performer and guitarist, teaching is an important aspect of my craft and I take great pride in sharing my knowledge with all students.
As an educator, I see it as my pleasure and responsibility to contribute to the broader music community, whether elevating aspiring players to a career path in music, or helping amateurs have a fun and explore the joys of playing the guitar.
Although I teach at conservatoire/university level, my 30 years experience as guitar teacher (both privately and in schools) sees me highly qualified to teach students at any level or age.

I take a personalised approach towards the student's needs and interests covering areas such as:
- harmony,
- technique,
- tools for improvising
- and some repertoire.
I specialise in the genres: jazz, funk, fusion, blues and rock. I encourage listening and transcribing as part of the learning.
Lessons are typically of 45min duration.
My qualifications:
- BMUS (Amsterdam Conservatorium)
- MMUS (Guildhall School of Music),
- PhD (WAAPA, Edith Cowan University)
