About Beatriz
I currently work as a laboratory analyst at an enzyme company based in South Florida. Three years ago I graduated with a bachelor's degree of science in Biology from Florida International University. I've worked as a genetics laboratory instructor, english tutor (I graduated top of my high school class in that particular subject), and biology tutor over a total of three years in the past. My dream is to eventually become full-time science instructor.

As the daughter of a high school biology teacher, I've seen firsthand how the correct approach can make a major difference in the capacity of students to learn, retain, recite, and incorporate knowledge. Rather than just regurgitating facts and figures, I think it's important to open a dialogue with students and make them feel engaged with the material they're seeking to review. The natural sciences often get a bad reputation for being boring and difficult to understand, but that's not true at all. Everything in our lives depends on the advancements made by the knowledge seekers that came before us, and something they all shared in common was a deep enthusiasm for learning about the world around them. Likewise, I think that working to make the material engaging and relevant makes all the difference in a person's ability to study science. I strive to help my students develop not only useful tools for test-taking and studying, but to also open up the way they choose to absorb information in general.
