Section 148 of the ICA says that a contract of bailment constitutes the temporary delivery of possession of the property of one person (bailor) to another (bailee).
Mr. X entered into a contract of gratuitous bailment with Mr Y, as he transferred the possession of his car to Y, and Y had exclusive possession over this car while X was away.
Firstly, Section 151 of the ICA establishes a uniform standard of care in regard to all cases of bailment, gratuitous as well as for reward. This is no distinguishing between two.
