About Poonam
So I am a PhD candidate at the Irish Centre for Human Rights in Galway. If that doesn't highlight that I love to learn and also understand how hard academics can be I don't know what will!
I love to learn and I also love to teach, I have been a tutor for a long time now, so I understand how difficult and anxiety inducing learning can be. So I try to reassure and encourage my students in lessons because essays and exams are stressful enough so I try to be as practical as I can with my tutorials so a use can be found out of them.
As a person I am quite patient, since learning something can be a very slow process and that is okay, though I am also someone that will encourage and push someone if I know that they can do better.

I've worked as a tutor since sixth form in secondary school teaching students from years 12-16, and as a university tutor at the University of Galway for ages 18 upwards.
As a tutor, my main goal is to help you gain the confidence in your own knowledge to be able to handle exams and essays. I prefer tailoring this to each student, so at the beginning I would go through the syllabus with you to target trouble areas and develop a plan with you on how to best target these areas. I support this with essays and problem questions as well as exam papers.
My lessons usually go from 1-2 hours with breaks including a follow up to determine where you're standing with a topic.
