About Velda
Most musicians believe they need to play fast to be good, yet I found that rhythm control actually defines the great players. I have spent 13 years teaching 71 students how to balance lead guitar flair with essential rhythm guitar foundations.
My lessons focus on internalising strumming patterns while mastering music theory to clarify the fretboard. I help students navigate reading tabs, songwriting, and complex scales and modes to ensure they are well-rounded. Ear training becomes the primary tool for those who want to hear the music before they play it. Feel free to contact me and share your goals for the instrument.

You will start by undergoing a diagnostic skills check before we build the lesson plan that targets your exact needs. My approach relies on the rigorous training from my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, which I translate into structured guitar instruction. Having taught for 13 years, I understand how to adjust the pacing of information so that you feel steady progress without becoming overwhelmed. This method ensures that feedback remains consistent across 9 distinct areas of study.
I focus heavily on how you process movement and theory during our time together. We will examine your current habits to replace them with more efficient techniques that allow for long-term growth. My goal is to ensure you possess the tools to practise effectively between our meetings. Does this clear approach to improving your skills match what you want from a tutor?
