About Toby
I'm a lifelong practitioner of internal martial arts of Tai Chi and Aikido. I'm certifified in Tai Chi by the American Tai Chi & Qigong Association, and for Northern Wu style fTai Chi by the Wu Tang Physical Culture Association NYC I also hold a 5th degree black belt in Aikido (50 years experience).
I began teaching professionally 9 years ago after experiencing a severe spinal illness that left me semi-paraplegic for several months. Tai Chii was so important in my recovery that I decided that I wanted to to share it with other people.
I will say aggain that absolute beginners are welcome!

I'm teaching Northern Wu style Tai Chi (Beijing Style). Wu-style tai chi is one of the five main styles of tai chi. It is second in popularity after Yang-style, and the fourth-oldest of the five major tai chi styles. Known for it's health benefits, especially for back pain and spinal health.
A typical class is 45 minutes, and includes traditional warmups and breathing techniques, balance exercises. and then proceeds to learning the tai chi form (sequence)
