About Skylar
I am a passionate piano educator with 11 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano. My teaching philosophy centers on creating engaging lessons that encourage active participation and deepen musical understanding. I focus on balanced skill growth, ensuring students develop technique, theory, and expressive abilities together.
I adapt lessons to each learner’s needs, from beginners to advanced pianists, making learning both accessible and challenging. I create a fun and encouraging environment where students of all ages feel excited to play piano. I focus on building strong technique while developing consistent practice habits that stick. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and goals, so learning never feels overwhelming.
I mix classical pieces with popular music to keep sessions fresh and motivating. Backing tracks and music games make practice engaging and interactive. Students gradually gain confidence in sight-reading, rhythm, and expression.
