About Debashree
I am Dr. Debashree Debasmita, a PhD graduate from IIT Guwahati (July 2017-May 2023). I am currently working as Project Research Scientist B at CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad on Biomaterial synthesis and their applications and Nanotheranostics. My previous engagement was as a PDF in IIT Hyderabad on biomaterials and regenerative medicines. During my PhD research I have worked on bacteria mediated- cancer therapy where I developed a live bacteria based drug delivery system. Here, I used Lactobacillus rhamnosus as the carrier that was fabricated with gold nanoclusters, rendering them fluorescent. Further, methotrexate was incorporated into this fluorescent live bacterial delivery system that acted as a delivery vehicle and anticancer agent for the cervical and colon cancer monolayer and 3D spheroids. I am an integrated B.Sc.B.Ed graduate and have immense desire to teach students with innovative methodologies.

My teaching will comprise lucid language and simple, real-life examples for reliability with the student. Due to my lab and research exposure I hold an in-depth knowledge on the subject practically and hence, can extend and expand on the concepts in a more relatable way. I believe in learning from the grass-root level and hence, the students will be considered to learn from the basics and will be welcomed to fulfill their inquisitive minds. I explain concepts until the student learns it. Also, I hold recapitulation sessions in the beginning of every class to maintain the continuity and evaluate the understanding of the student and my own performance.
