About Veronica

Hello! My name is Veronica, a qualified educator with a Bachelor of Education degree and currently completing my Honors in Educational Psychology. I have over eight years of experience tutoring and supporting learners in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics and Reading.

I specialize in reading intervention and learning support, using evidence-based teaching methods aligned with the Science of Reading and the CAPS curriculum. My lessons are engaging, structured and tailored to each learner's individual needs.

Whether your child needs extra support, confidence building or academic enrichment. I strive to create a positive learning environment where every learner can succeed and reach their full potential.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Veronica. I am a qualified educator with a Bachelor of Education degree, currently completing my Honors in Educational Psychology. I have extensive experience supporting learners in both mainstream and learning support settings, with a particular passion for literacy development and Mathematics intervention.

My teaching approach is learner-centered, patient and evidence-based. I use the Science of Reading principles and CAPS-aligned methodologies to help learners develop strong foundational skills and confidence. I believe that every child can learn when teaching is adapted to their individual needs, strengths and learning style.

I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and offer lessons in either language.

A typical lesson is structured, engaging and tailored to the learner's specific goals. Lessons may include explicit instruction, guided practice, interactive activities, revision of key concepts and ongoing assessment to monitor progress. I focus on building understanding rather than rote memorization, ensuring learners develop the skills needed for long-term success.

My lessons are suitable for:

Foundation Phase learners (Grades R–3)
Intermediate Phase learners (Grades 4–7)
Learners requiring reading intervention
Learners experiencing barriers to learning
Learners with ADHD or autism who benefit from structured support
Students needing assistance with English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, study skills or homework support.

What makes me unique is my combination of classroom teaching experience, learning support expertise and specialized knowledge in reading development. I strive to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and grow in confidence.

My goal is not only to improve marks but to help learners become independent, motivated and successful students.
