About Joe
I’m a Business tutor with a real passion for helping students understand and succeed in the subject. I know that Business can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially with the amount of theory and exam technique involved, but I genuinely enjoy breaking it down and making it more manageable and interesting.
I decided to teach because I’ve seen how much of a difference the right support can make. With clear explanations, the right approach to exams, and a bit of confidence, students can improve far more than they expect. I find it really rewarding to see that progress—whether it’s a student finally understanding a topic they struggled with or achieving a result they were aiming for.
My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I want each student to leave lessons not just with better notes, but with a clearer understanding and more confidence in their ability.

Approach to Tutoring & Teaching Style:
I focus on making Business clear, practical, and relevant to real-world situations. My approach is student-centred, meaning I adapt each lesson to the individual’s needs, pace, and learning style. I aim to build both understanding and confidence by breaking down complex topics into manageable parts and reinforcing learning through active engagement.
I use a mix of structured explanation and interactive learning. This includes:
Simplifying key concepts using real-life business examples.
Exam-focused techniques such as past paper practice and marking scheme analysis
Active recall and regular questioning to reinforce understanding
Visual aids like diagrams, mind maps, and summaries to help with retention
Step-by-step guidance on how to structure high-quality exam answers
I also place strong emphasis on exam strategy—helping students understand how to maximise marks, manage time effectively, and avoid common mistakes.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, which I find is the ideal balance between maintaining focus and covering material effectively. Longer sessions (90 minutes) can be arranged if needed, particularly closer to exams or for revision purposes.
Qualifications & Experience:
I have a strong academic background in Business and experience tutoring students at secondary level. I am familiar with the curriculum and exam expectations, and I have successfully helped students improve both their grades and confidence in the subject.
