About Peadar-Tom
I am a musician from the Conamara Gaeltacht in Ireland. I am a session musician specailising in Traditional Irish fiddle, American old-time fiddle, Guitar accompaniment in both of these styles and composition with my own personal projects.
What I love most about music is it's ability to give the musician an experience a state mindfulness and being in the moment, but to also have a lifelong skill or hobby which keeps giving.
Though I can teach how to read sheet music and follow notes, my philosophy is that aural learning opens the avenue for the player to independantly play, create and learn from other musicians, in doing so they develop their own musical identity while. also becoming part of the musical and wider community.

Guitar lessons that centre around nurturing the student with an ear for accompaniment, chord & theory knowledge, rhythm, techniques and improvisation.
Can provide lessons between 30 minutes and an hour, these are accompanied by learning materials for the student to take home.
My experience consists of:
- First class honours in a music degree, focusing on pedagogy, ethnomusicology and composition.
- 8 years teaching guitar, piano, bodhrán & fiddle in private lessons, composition workshops in schools, youth ensemble training and instrument group classes through various organisations in the west of Ireland focused on the continuation of Irish Traditional Music and language
- A diploma in Psychology, with a focus on child psychology and learning.
- An active session musician in the styles of traditional Irish musician, Old-time americana and country
