About Rosie
My name is Rose, and I'm on a journey, a challenging yet exhilarating one that has me poised to teach English in Japan. What makes my story a little different is this: I'm dyslexic. For some, this might seem like an insurmountable obstacle on the path to becoming an English teacher. For me, it's a driving force, a unique lens through which I view the challenges and joys of language. Throughout my life, I've had to develop strategies and techniques to navigate the complexities of the English language. This personal experience, while initially frustrating, has ultimately shaped my approach to learning and teaching. I believe it gives me a particular empathy for students who struggle with language acquisition, regardless of the cause. I understand the frustration of misremembered spellings, the difficulty in decoding complex sentence structures, and the sheer effort required to master grammatical rules. It is these experiences that fuel my passion for teaching. I want to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and learning from them. I aspire to be a teacher who not only imparts grammatical knowledge but also fosters a genuine love for the English language.
