About Maxwell
My name is Max Lunn and I am currently studying MMus Creative practice (Music) at Goldsmiths University of London. I have been playing music since I was 10. I first started playing drums and continued playing until I was 18. Throughout my teenage life, growing up in Leeds, I played in various punk bands and played at venues such as Brudenell Social Club, Wharf Chambers and O2 Academy. I later studied Sculpture in Glasgow at The Glasgow School of Art. I went on tour around UK and Netherlands with my band Yung KP and Dinner Night. Whilst studying sculpture, I specialised in theatre and debuted my first production at Platform in Easterhouse. I have kept up my writing and I recently self-published my first collection of stories. In 2022 I moved down to London after receiving Arts Council England funding for classical piano lessons and the opportunity to record my first album. In 2024 I released my debut album 'Countryside City' on North

My teaching will be focused specifically on songwriting and my hope is that by lesson one you will leave with the tools to start composing. Songwriting is a personal adventure. The best songwriters always sing honestly by finding their own voice. Through learning scales, chord structures and notations, I will help you on your way in finding your songwriting style. Through the lesson, I will incorporate writing exercises to help with lyrics. My lessons are an hour long. My lessons are for beginners of any age who want to play the piano and write their own music.

I would recommend Maxwell as a piano tutor. He has so much musical talent. He has performance experience, patience and a love of all music. He makes lessons fun and enjoyable and I have become a better songwriter since having lessons with Max.
Max has an easy going attitude, added with a bit a fun which makes the difficulties of learning that much more easier to pick up!
Max is a really helpful teacher that made learning piano fun and accessible for me.
I was a complete beginner and max was amazingly patient with me. He taught me in a straightforward and considered manner. Really enjoyed it - come highly recommended!
